HOW IT WORKS

Elevated Gardens use solar powered watering and a clever design to make it simple for everyone to grow fresh produce in virtually any outdoor location.

 

EASY TO USE

 

If you do not have the time or expertise to look after a traditional garden, then an Elevated Garden is for you. There is no need to remember to water the plants! The self-watering system operates for up to two months

without the need to top up the water. Your plants will thrive even when you go on holidays.

 

Over watering is not possible because any excess water drains into the water reservoir, in the base of the growing tank.

 

Elevated Gardens ensure an ideal growing environment by maintaining consistent moisture and nutrient levels, without the fuss.

HOW TO MAINTAIN

The automated system takes care of the watering for you as it is programmed with the correct watering time each night.

 

The need to change the water is to prevent a build-up of plant wastes in the water system and to replenish nutrients which will become depleted as the plants remove the nutrient for growth.

 

The water in the reservoir of the larger automated systems will not need changing for a number of months as the plant consumption per day is low.

 

The solar system encompasses a commercial grade solar cell that

 

 

operates in low light conditions to charge the battery cell, which allows the automatic watering to occur.

 

When growing conditions are very overcast the plants will use minimal water and hence the system adapts to sunlight intensity.

 

To turn off the system disconnect the pump.

 

It is recommended that the pump is removed from the system every month or so to clean the in-line filter and the filter at the base of the pump.

 

This simple process takes less than 5 minutes and is covered fully in the Growing Manual.

 

 

The water reservoir should be drained every three months to add fresh water and nutrient to the system. This is not cleaning the system rather changing to a new water supply and recharging the nutrient levels.

 

During periods of heavy rain when the water level in the growing tank rises and hence dilutes the nutrient, addition of nutrient may be required. Consult the Growing Manual for top up rates.

 

The CocoEarth will last up to five years. Over time the material may slightly reduce in volume and additional medium may be required to keep the original height level.
